Founded in the spring of 2021 by Katia Derbel and Jérôme Lavallée, Ditchfield microtorréfacteur is a specialty coffee roaster based in Lac-Mégantic, QC.
Born from a deep passion for specialty coffee and a desire to participate in the positive transformation of the industry, Ditchfield has made it its mission to promote quality coffee that is more sustainable and transparent.
At Ditchfield, we believe that every coffee tells a story: the story of the terroir, the producer, and the meticulous work behind each harvest. Our role is to showcase all that work, from the bean to your cup.

In 2024, we moved our facilities to a more spacious location, designed to comfortably welcome you to our home! We therefore invite you to slow down, celebrate those little everyday moments, and take a moment for yourself in a warm, welcoming, and inspiring place.

Driven by a desire to understand and master our craft, our role as coffee roasters is a unique opportunity to learn, innovate, and grow. We believe it is a true privilege to introduce an exceptional product and open the door to fascinating discussions about coffee.
Our daily decisions are guided by quality and attention to detail, always working with care and intention. We are deeply passionate about developing a product that lives up to the producers' expertise. With strong relationships with our importers, we ensure product traceability and quality, while also having the necessary information to bring out the best in every bean. This constant pursuit of quality and innovation drives us to create distinctive coffees, designed to inspire curiosity and pleasure.
The world of coffee is vast, complex… and fascinating. More than anything, we want to make this world accessible to everyone. We want to share the richness of specialty coffee and offer everyone an experience that sparks discovery and wonder.

In May 2020, on the eve of welcoming our first child, we chose to transform our lives: leaving Montreal and settling in Lac-Mégantic, in the Eastern Townships. We dreamed of a gentler, simpler daily life, more aligned with what truly motivates us. This big leap was the best decision we ever made.
Here, nestled between the mountains and the lake, we rediscovered what truly matters: peaceful mornings with family, walks in the forest, music, time to read, and above all, to breathe. This more human pace gave us the space to create what Ditchfield Micro Roastery is today.
Living intentionally has allowed us to build a company true to our values: authenticity, quality, respect for the product and the work behind each bean. Every coffee we roast is an expression of this way of life—simple, thoughtful, and deeply inspiring.
